Jennifer Moriarty has been creating under the Juliet Revived name since 2007.

From reconstructing vintage clothing to revamping antique objets d'art to mixed media work, the ever-evolving collection (and belief system) is inspired by the desire to revive Shakespeare's female protagonist, Juliet.

It takes inspiration from the ethos that life’s tragedies – no matter how great – can be reframed into beautiful, enduring works of art.

The work combines a sentimental appreciation of things that are old, with a love of new ideas. The ultimate goal is to create and re-create new life, new days, and new experiences, deeply rooted in the human experience of being alive. Which, of course, includes the theme of death in all its emotive, transformative powers.

This current incarnation of Juliet Revived works on paper brings the unconscious mind forward, allowing feelings that cannot always be expressed to be transformed into a tangible visual reality. The active, inherently meditative process of cutting out familiar images and reconstructing them has become a portal of sortsto limitless formations. Something that she hopes will inspire you to feel, in the most perfect sense, human. Alive. Timeless. Timely.
